Updates

After nearly 50 years of owning Duck Creek, the Benton family has decided to end their watch. Effective November 15, 2022, Kathy partnered with two marina industry veterans, both of whom have owned and run their own boatyards in the past. The business plan going forward is for Duck Creek to remain a boatyard and marina, family owned, DIY friendly and contractor accessible, while also developing more in house services for customers.

After the holidays, we will have an open house to introduce the new owners, who will share more details about the future plans for Duck Creek.

  • Hauled out our Tartan 37 for spring maintenance and rigging work here. The Marina was very accommodating, efficient, and friendly. The contractors that frequent the yard are highly professional. We werehappy with the thorough bottom sanding, painting, and topside waxing by Terry and her crew. The travel lift team are extremely conscientious and careful. Especially with mast unstepping and re-steppping. Maveryks Marine, a rigging contractor, is one of the best in the area, and we were very pleased with the replacement of the standing rigging. We highly recommend this marina boatyard, especially with the friendliest and efficient office staff. Thank you Cathy1

Great Boat Yard! Staff is very professional and accommodating. DIY bottom painting and maintenance. Curt was an excellent referral for inboard work and maintenance. Purchased bottom paint, batteries and a few parts from Duck Creek - excellent prices. If you need to haul out your boat, this is the place.

Duck Creek Marina is the place to go. The staff is courteous, helpful, and cheerful. A great combination. The various contractors that will service your boat with bottom paint, rigging, etc. are tremendous. Kudos.

Only DIY yard in the area. Extremely helpful and knowledgeable staff. Only one of two haul out boatyards in the area. Probably the most protected harbor on the Nuese River.

  • Friendly staff, cute dogs, good prices and they allow you to work on the boat in the yard. The onsite staff is considerate, well versed in boating needs and repair, and professional. Terry is one of the onsite staff we are working with and she is awesome. I would highly recommend dry docking your boat here if your are looking for a place with a friendly face.

Duck Creek Marina has been around for a while it is back in the cut so it's not easily seen unless you're trying to find it pretty good size yard lift capable of lifting big boats

Having spent three weeks there in a sweltering summer, I was very glad that it had all the facilities necessary for survival as a liveaboard - water, electricity, and showers! Also a Food Lion a half-mile away. Very friendly and helpful people work there. Managers Kathy and Tyler are happy to answer any question. Reasonably priced, and you get to choose your own contractors or work on your boat yourself. Shout-out to Terry and Karen for their quality paint and waxing work.

Just had my 48 year old all wood Grand Banks hauled, cleaned, sanded and new bottom paint. The staff at Duck Creek was very knowledgeable and caring. Did a fantastic job of getting my boat out of the water and on to “the hard” and then back into the water. Allowed to stay in the lift sling overnight to make sure there was no separation in the wooden planks. Duck Creek is all about the customer. Don’t think I could be in a better Marina.
